I did this as often as I dared. My worries were in getting hopelessly lost, or slipping (I slip often, I don't know why) and breaking a bone and not being found by anyone for hours. Thankfully, neither worries happened.

Pine Trees59 viewsSpent hours hiking among pine trees. They're so stately, quiet, fragrant. I relished their company, and an occasional dog's. I don't know why a dog often popped up along the trails. I would look up from photographing something on the ground to see a dog staring at me. Often we would just politely pass each other by. But one dog, headed towards me, turned back and accompanied me for a while. It sauntered light-footed ahead of me, and when I took too long it came back and seemed to say, "Well, hurry up!"
