Hanging Coffins73 viewsHanging coffins. They are visible from the side of the road to Sumaging Cave, and from Echo Valley. There are also some inside the burial cave.Jul 16, 2004

Trail 263 viewsSagada trail. Mostly I followed the main roads and marked trails. But sometimes it was interesting to just climb up a slope and see what's out there that not many people have seen. I did this as often as I dared. My worries were in getting hopelessly lost, or slipping (I slip often, I don't know why) and breaking a bone and not being found by anyone for hours. Thankfully, neither worries happened.Jul 16, 2004

Pine Tree roots54 viewsI thought it was amazing that this tree appeared to have more roots than branches. Seemed to me, one has to dig deeper to get the whole picture.Jul 16, 2004

Pine Trees58 viewsSpent hours hiking among pine trees. They're so stately, quiet, fragrant. I relished their company, and an occasional dog's. I don't know why a dog often popped up along the trails. I would look up from photographing something on the ground to see a dog staring at me. Often we would just politely pass each other by. But one dog, headed towards me, turned back and accompanied me for a while. It sauntered light-footed ahead of me, and when I took too long it came back and seemed to say, "Well, hurry up!"Jul 16, 2004

Broken44 viewsBroken pine tree branch. Must be from the last Typhoon Igme. I was told there were 5 landslides and 2 road washouts along the Halsema Highway connecting Baguio to Sagada during Igme. The roads were passable, but still not completely cleared. In some parts, only one lane was serviceable and vehicles had to give way to one another.Jul 16, 2004
