Compact Flash type II - Small hardisk in your camera

microdrive

Microdrive is a small hardisk that spins rapidly and is prone to the same problems that a regular hardisk gets. Microdrives had an advantage in few years back because of its ability to hold high capacity of data, now Type I CF cards are at Par in terms of size.

Microdrive also uses more power which drains the camera even more if files are shot in succession. Microdrives are fragile and not recommended at altitudes over 12,000 ft dues to problems with air bearings at lower atmospheric pressure.
