Boracay

IMG_2907.jpg

One of the most popular destinations of local and foreign tourists, Boracay has always been considered as a must-visit place at any time of the year. With the stretch of white, powdery sand, clear, blue waters, and white puka shells, it has been and will probably always be one of the most visited spots in the country

Banaue Rice Terraces

Fondly referred to as the stairway to heaven and the Eighth Wonder of the World, these man-made terraces have been one of Northern Luzon’s most famous sights, most especially having been created around 2,000 years ago by the Ifugaos, and originally built as a complex irrigation system.

Chocolate Hills

It’s best to go to this part of Bohol during the dry season, when the hills are at their chocolatiest, so to speak. Chocolate Hills is one of the highlights of the province, together with its pristine beaches.

Hundred Islands National Park

123 to be exact. But some of these “islands” are just islets, or more like large rock formations. Three of these islands are noteworthy: Quezon Island, Governor’s Island, and Children’s Island. Not that you have to confine yourselves to these three. Go ahead and actually rent an island, which you can have all to yourself.

Taal Volcano and Taal Lake

Only about a couple of hours away from Manila, Taal has been a quick-getaway for the busy bees of the metro. For a little R&R, you can opt to trek to the volcano itself or content yourself with the spectacular view and the cooler climate.

Panglao Island

Another popular destination in the province of Bohol, the island of Panglao is one of the best dive spots in the country. But this doesn’t mean that non-divers are being excluded, because the island is lined with several resorts for your picking.

Camiguin Island

IMG_0739_wm_resize.JPG

Camiguin has been regarded as probably the most beautiful island in the country. Often referred to as our local Garden of Eden, what with its number of magnificent waterfalls and both hot and cold springs. The island’s scenery will definitely make you want to come again (pun intended).

Pearl Farm

Located off the coast of Davao City, the Pearl Farm shouldn’t be taken at face value. It used to be a pearl farm, were oysters boasted of pink, white, and gold pearls, but is now one of the country’s premier beach resorts, a private retreat down south—with its world-class quality, white sand, and amazing view.

Siargao

There is not one surfer who does not know about Siargao, a teardrop-shaped island in Surigao. With waves that rise from 9 up to 12 feet high and untouched beaches, the island has been a frequent destination of local and foreign surfers. It used to be one of the country’s best-kept gems, but is now famous for its beautiful beaches and regarded as a surfing paradise.
