The Aliwan Festival is actually a parade of festivities, which celebrates the different cultures and traditions of the different cities and regions of the country. Presented are different colorful costumes and floats, including traditional dances and beautiful women to represent each city and region.

The Meguyaya is Maguindanao's thanksgiving festival, usually held in the month of December. It showcases the rich culture of the Tedudays, who are the dominant tribe of the town.

Hermosa Festival of Zamboanga City



More popularly known as Fiesta Pilar, the Hermosa Festival honors the image of Our Lady of Pilar, which is held at Fort Pila. The people from this province believe that she has served as their unifying and cultural symbol. In order to honor her feast day, they hold a nine-night procession, fireworks show, ethnic parade, and cultural show, among other festivities.

Tultugan Festival of Maasin, IloIlo

The word "tultugan" is actually an indigenous term for bamboo drum. The festival promotes the local bamboo industry, protecting their creativity and craftsmanship as to the different uses of the bamboo, the highlight of which is a street-dancing presentation and competition, participated in by local students donning colorful costumes. The Tultugan Festival is held the day before their town fiesta, in December.

Pili Festival of Sorsogon City



Sorsogon's annual Pili Festival is held line with their traditional patronal fiesta, on the 28th and 29th of June, which honors their patron saints, Saint Peter and Saint Paul. The festival in itself heralds the pili tree, which is native to the province, and has been regarded as "The Majestic Tree" because of the number of industrial, commercial, and nutritional uses.
