T'nalak Festival by Bobby Timonera

The T'nalak Festival is celebrated annually in South Cotabato, signifying the importance of the t'nalak cloth as the region's cultural image. A series of events take place, which usually commences with an agri-industrial technology and trade expo.

Kasadya Street Dancing

The Kasadya Festival takes place during the celebration of Tourism Week in Iligan City. Being one of the highlights of the fiesta, the Kasadya features the Higa-onons, the Yawa-yawa, the Eskrima, and the Dyandi, which are the different dances of Iligan. In the Kasadya, competitors are given free reign to deviate from the traditional Sinulog dances and rituals.

Flower Festival

The Panagbenga, or the Baguio Flower Festival, is held annually, showcasing the city as the City of Flowers. Festivities include the Floral Street Parade and the Floral Float Parade, and the festival usually lasts for around close to three months.

(Muntinlupa) The Bulaklakan Festival held in Muntinlupa is celebrated yearly with a parade of flowers and costumes.

Cebu Sinulog

The Sinulog is actually a dance done ritually to pay homage to the Santo Niño, all the while moving to the sound of the drums. The first ever Sinulog parade was done more than two decades ago, with the festival now being done yearly.

Dinagyang

The Dinagyang, an Iloilo festival and their version of Aklan's Ati-Atihan, is celebrated every 4th weekend of January, in honor of the Holy Child Jesus. It's a socio-cultural and religious event that is characterized by feet stomping and hypnotic drumbeats, with the people dressed in unique and colorful costumes, dancing and chanting all throughout.

Masskara Bacolod City

Bacolod's Masskara is celebrated on the weekend that's closest to the city's charter day anniversary, which is held on the 19th of October. The festival commences with food and trade fairs and exhibits; mask-making, drinking, and eating contests; brass band competitions; beauty and talent pageants; and a windsurfing regatta. The Masskara concludes with a Mardi Gras-type parade.

The city of Iligan celebrates Tourism Week together with their city fiesta, which includes the Kasadya Festival. The week's festivities include cultural shows, beauty pageants, exhibits, parades, religious processions, and trade fairs. The Kasadya, however, is the fiesta's highlight, which actually showcases Sinulog-like street dancing from different locales, such as the Higa-onons, the Yawa-yawas, the Eskrima, and the Dyandis.
