About JP and Michelle:
JP is also a National Geographic Young Explorer, and has
received several grants from the National Geographic
Society for his research into the Environment and Culture
of the Cordillera Region. He has also mounted a successful
exhibit on the Cordillera Mountains entitled “Living
Mountains” in 2006 and 2007. He was mentored in his
Photography by Gordon Wiltsie, one of National Geographic’s
top Adventure Photographers. JP is a local and who better
to take you to see the wonders of the mountains than
someone who has lived there his entire life.
Another mentor during the expedition is Michelle Morelos,
a.k.a. glitterdoll. Most of her outstanding images were
captured with her point and shoot camera. Showing that it
really does not matter what kind of camera you use, it is
the eye that makes the image and she has quite a talented
eye for amazing images. Her images, like her personality,
are bubbly and colorful, showing you literally the
happiness pouring out of the images she creates. Like JP,
Michelle is also a passionate environmentalist and also
holds a Masters Degree in Environmental Management from the
Ateneo de Manila and University of San Francisco. Much of
her images are, in fact, influenced by this love for the
environment.
