Through A Lens: Patterns of People or Patterns in Nature 2008 Winners

April 26, 2008 by admin

Below are the results for the 2008 Michael H. Kellicutt International Photo Show Through A Lens: Patterns of People or Patterns in Nature. But first our juror, Michael Collopy wanted to share his thoughts with everyone who participated in this year’s show.

“I want to congratulate each photographer in the show. There could be an argument rendered for each image to win an award. I take judging very seriously and spent many hours deliberating on the many images here. Having said that, you may also realize how subjective this process is. The selection might easily take a different turn on any given day. For those who were not chosen for prizes realize that this does not in any way affect your talent and beautiful images. Do not let this or any judgment of your art derail you from focusing on your personal work and believing in your gifts and talents. You are all winners!

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to judge your beautiful artwork!”

Through A Lens: Patterns of People or Patterns in Nature prize recipients

First Prize:
Point Counterpoint
by Donald W. Seymour of Novato, California, USA

“I told Don at the ceremony that I pulled this image off the wall to spin it in the other 3 angles to see if it was more successfully composed from another direction and it only proved that you never doubt the integrity of a great artist. This is an extraordinary image of gentle texture and bold color that is defined by the masterful, natural line that exists to define the petals. ”
