We hav a unit of IXUS 55, it has a problem on lens, it became blured & the lens can’t close, but previewing of past picture is still ok, in taking only of pics coz its blured already

Effective immediately, and regardless of warranty status, Canon will repair, free of charge, the products listed above exhibiting the above-mentioned malfunction if Canon determines that the malfunction is caused by the CCD image sensor. Canon will also cover the cost of shipping and handling in connection with this repair.

Magandang araw po.
Nais ko sanang hingin ang atensiyon ng kinauukulan tungkol sa pinagawa naming digital camera sa inyo.
Aba eh, last may pa namin ‘yon pinagawa, at sa awa ng Diyos until now ay di pa nare-repair. God knows kung ano ang pinaggagawa ng technician nyo. Almost a month na akong nagpa follow up. Kesyo walang parts, after two weeks, dumating na ang parts, another two weeks ginagawa pa rin ng technician nyo.
At until now ginagawa pa rin. Ewan ko kung nagka H1N1 ang technician nyong gumagawa? Aabutan na pa ata ako ng pasko bako namin makuha ang nasabing camera.
Very bad nga lang dahil halos lahat ng mga digital na gamit namin ay CANON ang brand, but with what is happening right now, I will advise our friends specially ang mga workshoppers namin at mga directors at cinematographers/photographers na huwag ng bibili ng products nyo.
It will take a century bago magawa ang isang camera.
Sana naman Diyos ko malaman talaga namin ang tunay na nangyayari sa mga pinagagawa naming gamit, bakit inaabot ng ilang buwan bago magawa.

Kaya sa mga gustong magpagawa ng mga nasirang gamit na Canon brand, God knows kung kailan nila magagawa yan. Better buy a new one but not the same brand as CANON.
So mabagal sa pag re repair.

I bought a Cannon SD 750 last August 2009, last week, I accidentally press the picture mode without opening the camera first, to my surprise, the LCD became black and when I took pictures, it is all black image. My camera still works perfectly except the LCD, when I took pictures with the flash, it flashes back. Do you know how to fix this? How much is the labor? Thanks!

We would like to report an incident regarding the Canon Service Center in Ground Floor, Freedom Plaza, Mandaluyong. My kit lens started to have problems with its auto focus motor October 27. Since its warranty is until November 2, 2009, I asked my uncle to bring it to the service center mentioned above last October 30, 2009 to have it fixed before the warranty expires. When he presented the warranty card along with the proof of purchase, he was informed that the warranty will not be honored since the camera with the kit lens was bought in Hong Kong. My uncle argued that despite the camera body not having an international warranty, the lens has a separate warranty card that has international coverage. But he was informed that since the lens was not brought separately, the international warranty will not be honored. I found this highly preposterous because why would canon provide a separate warranty card, with an international coverage, if it will not be entertained in another country? However, when I tried calling the, number provided, 884-9000, I found out that he was only given the customer service hotline and not the store’s number. Also, I was placed on hold for an hour and was not able to talk to anybody.
With this in mind, I personally went back to the service center the following day, Saturday, October 31, 2009. When I got to the service center at around 2:30, a good 2 hours drive away from where I live, the service center which was supposedly open till 6pm was closed with a note posted by the entrance saying:
“We will be closed starting 2pm-6pm today due to bad weather, and tomorrow, November 1 in observance of All Saints Day.”
While the latter is a valid reason, the first one was rather strange considering the storm was felt only in the early morning was definitely done even before 9am when their working hour started.
Since I can not do anything about it, I decided to just go back on November 2, since the message only stated that they will not be open on November 1.
Today, I tried contacting the customer service hotline at around 10 am, but was once again rewarded with an hour’s worth of waiting. Since it’s the last day of the validity of my warranty and I can not contact the hotline, I decided to just proceed to the service center. But when I got there, they are once again closed, and there, I found another note stating:
“We will be closed starting 2pm today in observance of All Souls Day.”
This, I think is already too much because first of all, they did not state this in their note last Saturday, and second, the hotline was once again unavailable.
I would like to request an extension, even for just a few days of my warranty since I really tried to make the deadline. It should have already been serviced the first time if the Canon personnel did not misinform us. Also, I think something should be done with the way the announcement of the ‘no service center days’ are made. It should not be that the only way to know if the service center is open or not is by going there.

Would you be able to remove the dust or a small debris inside the viewfinder? I have a 100D EOS DSLR and I ocassionally change my lens depending on the subject that I am shooting. I noticed that there is a small debris when I looked into the viewfinder but when I took some shots, Its doesnt affect the pictures. I think the small debris is inside the viewfinder. I have same problem with “xyza” (posted December 28, 2009) Did she brought her cam to one of ur service center? Was it FIXED? I encounter same problem last Dec.30, It was my nephew’s baptismal and all pictures taken on that day have lines and indoor shots are extremely bright in the center. My unit is A430.
for the past 20 years, its been only canon in my camera arsenal. i still have and treasure a canonet, t50, t70, ae-1 program and a canon F1. i acquired my first digital unit, IXY DIGITAL 800 IS,a few years ago. its a good camera till it stopped playing the pictures i shot. pictures are half gray when viewed via USB.
