2008 Masskara Festival Schedule
- October 16 – School Category of Masskara Street Dancing – 1:00PM
- October 17 – Barangay Cateogry of Masskara Street Dancing- 1:00PM
- October 18 – Open Category of Masskara Street Dancing – 1:00PM
- October 19 – Charter Day Parade
- October 19 – Electric Masskara – 8:00pm
Notes on Bacolod Masskara 2008:
- Villamonte failed to submit their entry forms in time.. only the top 22 groups shall be performing but they made it to the Electric Masskara and shall strut their stuff on the 19th at 8:00PM
- Barangay Alijis is not seeing action this year. Their is a change in administration with a new barangay captain and they have opted to skip this year.
- Barangay 23 is all set to wow the crowds since Villamonte and Barangay Alijis is not part of the Barangay competition.

Masskara Festival 2008 and 70th Charter Day Anniversary of Bacolod City
Why am i writing about the Masskara Festival this early? well for one, you guys have to start booking your hotel and tickets… it isnt that easy to go to Bacolod, the crowd seems to get bigger and bigger every year. This year is the 70th Charter Anniversary of the City so expect a lot of balikbayans coming back to celebrate the masskara festival and the Charter day of Bacolod! Note before booking any hotel.. check the route map below and see where your hotel is located. Making sure that it is near the parade route since they close the streets and it is always hard to get a ride.
There are other festivals coming up and lets not forget that too, The Kadayawan Festival in Davao and the Kagay-an Festival of Cagayan de Oro both happening at the end of the month! Masskara would be on my top list of Festival to visits in the Philippines, Why? well Massakara has a different flavor to it. If you noticed that the other festivals have the same look. The Masskara is full of color and has an almost picture perfect appeal that is unique to Bacolod.
