iPhone Streaming TV – Watch Live TV on your iPhone
February 26, 2009
Here is another iPhone TV app to Watch live TV on your iPhone or iPod touch through Wi-fi. It is worth a Try.. best of all is that it is a FREE app!
TVU networks bring you a live service with 300++ channels from around the world. Channels that play well are the channels that use 200kbps bandwidth or less.
Channels that play well on the TVU Tv App;
- Channel News Asia
- Sports 2 Mobile
- CNBC TV 18 (india)
- CNN IBN (india)
- IBN7
- Dawn News
- Philippine Event Channel
The app is still on beta and hopefully they can fix the interface of the TV show app making it more user friendly with and up to date information. I wasnt sure if I was watching live, didnt have time to check.. will probably do it tom.

Here are some screencaps to show you how the TV app works on the iPhone.
This app actually works, they should have used the actual show icons on the menu instead of their own logo..it would make the whole experience more exciting. Here is the first Channel I viewed.. Channel news Asia.. They should put a time stamp on the description to know how delayed it actually is compared to the live TV show.
Checked Animax but and it seemed to play flawlessly compared to other channels, I then wanted to see if they had something more serious so i switched to fox news and it as you can see they were discussing the $410 Billion spending package which the house approved. Timely enough and a better alternative to other iPhone TV apps that just play end of the day Podcasts or highlights of the news. This app is different, it streams everything live!
I then decided to play around and Try Comedy Central, i caught Cheech and Chong? singing some crazy song.. then i decided to see what everybody wants to see live, sports events, in the photo even it was showing live championship football.
This a definite keeper for those times you are on the road and want to catch up with the latest news or sporting event.. watching cartoons or championship boxing or football.

NOTE: this only works with FAST WIFI connections, dont bother trying it if you are on the budget broadband connections plan because you will just get tired waiting for the shows to fill up the buffer. You will need around 200++ kbps of bandwidth to get smooth transitions watching tv on your mobile.
