Iloilo Paraw Regatta Festival - Oldest water based Festival in Asia
Iloilo Paraw Regatta Festival - Oldest water based Festival in Asia 36 years and still running!
Let me start with saying this is one festival that stands out from the rest.. I enjoyed walking on the shoreline end to end shooting the Paraw and their colorful sails, I just wish we had deep dark blue skies to give the photos more kick.. who knows, might just go back next year and shoot again!
my travel tips when going to the Iloilo Paraw Festival.
1. Check the weather.
2. Bring a plastic bag or rain cover to protect your camera in case of rain or some water splashing from the Paraws.
3. Go a day early and shoot the preparation!
4. Wear comfortable clothes… something that dries fast and is light.
5. Travel Light - water and sand around you.. not good for your gear.
6. use sandals, slippers or aqua socks - so you can move around without wrecking your shoes.
7. do what you do best and enjoy shooting the festival…
