Kasadyahan of Iloilo City - The Other Festival of Dinagyang
When I went to Iloilo Last year, I was surpised to find out that there was the Kasadyahan which happens on 4th Saturday of January… this is part of the Dinagyang Festival Activities and reminds me of the Sinulog Festival of Cebu.. similar costumes but different dance routines.
If you plan to go and shoot the 2009 Dinagyang Festival next year, Make sure you attend the following activities;
1. Dinagyang Fluvial Parade - This happens on the Friday before the Main event.
2. Ms. Dinagyang - A beauty pageant.
3. Kasadyahan Street Dancing - This Happens on Saturday and photos below.
4. Dinagyang - Ati-Ati Street Dancing.. this is what you see when they get painted in black.. well that was before now they get painted in dark brown. Photos of the 2008 Dinagyang Festival to Follow soon.

and btw, Dinagyang was voted the best tourism event 2 years in a row… more than enough reason to pay them a visit next year!
Here is a list of Iloilo Hotels for your next trip.. if you want to get close to the action, i suggest you stay in Iloilo Grand Hotel.. Stage 4 is right outside the hotel
Happy Viewing!
Wait there’s more! Take a peek and see the Beauty of the Philippines!
