Fuji S5 Pro is now available from Fuji-YKL stores. SRP release price is Php 88,000.00

a bit expensive considering that the D200 can be purchased locally at P60,000.00 ++ and a D80 can bought on the market at P40,000.00 ++ The only thing working for the Fuji S5 Pro is the dynamic range and color rendition which is really good out of the box.. The d200 on the other hand with some tweaking can give you same results…
I got a chance to hold the Fuji S5 Pro, feels solid in your hands.. the only thing that still bothers me is that the write speed was just too slow for me.. am still not sure if that was the fault of the CF card they were using or the camera was just slow.. I wanted to bring a faster CF card to check but the unit was already sent back to the main office.

Having used a Fuji S1 Pro and the Fuji S2 Pro, i would say the strength of the Fuji S5 Pro would be in Terms of reliability and color rendition, I would say that The fuji S5 Pro is a good buy… but the only downside is that it is priced above competition. Your other options would be to go with a D200 (10MP) or a D80 (10MP)

The S5 Pro features the same SuperCCD SR design sensor although now called ‘SR Pro’, it features 6.17 million ‘S photodiodes’ (normal DR) and 6.17 million ‘R photodiodes’ (highlight DR) for a total photodiode count of 12.34 million. Some review have said that this is still the old sensor marketed in a different way… some even go up to a point saying that the camera is just really a 6.17 MP camera. At the end.. it is still a tool to capture great photos..Â and it does it well…Â
