For the Photographers out there, Book your flights and hotels early enough… I started calling the hotels and most of them are already booked for the fiesta!!
If any of you are going and want to meet up there let me know leave a comment here.. maybe we can get a group to go out after…

hi! i also want to join the photo contest. actually i don’t have any experience yet but hopefully, this event can give me an edge of discovering photography. i’m interested to meet other people but can you pls. give me an idea what dates should i book for a flight and where to stay? cheap hotels/inns are fine. thank you

so which weekend are the big festivities? medyo naguguluhan ako kase sabi nung isang forum-friend namin sa 12 daw dapat kami pumunta e ang alam ko nga usually 3 weekend of Jan ang parade and festivities.

opening is jan 12….meron ng street dancing on 13 and 14…pero the big mardi gras is on 21 (the third sunday)…awarding is 22..

Im an amateur, how can I get a permit to shoot inside the perimeter of the parade? Does anyone here knows how?

you can register at the sinulog foundation and secure an id there which will allow you to weave in and out of the parade that will also give you access to join the photo contest of the sinulog.. its a bit expensive but worth the price…. Last year they were charging P500 per person..

the grand carousel happens on the 21st of January.. and the winner perform again on the awarding ceremonies on the 22nd at 1pm.

hi! can i join your group? especially on the jan.20 event - the Fluvial Procession of the Miraculous Image of Sto Nino, i dont know how to get there to take some pictures. actually, i already registered for the photo contest though hindi naman talaga ako “photographer” by profession. Hi, i just found out about sinulog from a friend, and he mentioned a lady that makes floats and dances. She is famous in Cebu. Has anyone there ever heard of Desiree ybanez ignacio, her dad is Alex ybanez. I am trying to locate her, to offer her some work. Does anyone know, where I can find her.
