ABOUT THE EXHIBIT:
Wide: An Exhibit of Panoramic Proportion
For their 28th anniversary Year end exhibit, the Zone Five Camera Club
presents images that go beyond the ordinary view one normally sees when
looking through the viewfinder of the regular camera. This exhibit the
members have chosen to title ³Wide² consists of extreme wide-angle views of
ordinary and not ordinary scenes.
The images selected reflect the various styles or preferences of the zone
fivers. There are city scapes, landscapes, morning shots, night scenes.
Colored and Black and White images are displayed alongside special effect
shots using infrared imaging techniques. An element of whimsy may be seen
in some images using small objects taken at close range. It may be argued
that the wider, the better.
Panoramas are nothing new. The first patented issued for a panoramic
cameras dates back to 1843. Old timers have been known to physically join
printed pictures together in crude fashion to achieve a panoramic effect.
Technology has made the process much simpler and more refined.
This exhibit is the first attempt of the Zone Five Camera Club to hold a
show of nothing but panoramic views. The difficulties experienced in
setting it up notwithstanding, hopefully it won¹t be the last time zone five
does. The Zone Fivers believe it was worth it. Collectively they have
created a compilation of images that will amaze the viewer perhaps leaving
them scratching their heads wondering how it was done.
Go ³Wide² with the Zone Five Camera Club. Exhibit runs November 18 thru
November 30 at the 3rd Floor of The Block, SM North EDSA.
The show is co-sponsored by HP Philippines and The Block ,SM City North
EDSA, in cooperation with Stage Riggers, Inc.

Robelle House, Valdez St. Makati.

Too bad, i did not see your last exhibit, but knowing Zone V, i’m sure your photos bear the Zone V mark- crisp, artistic, and mind-boggling. I belong to the marginalized sector of the craft- the film user, and i wonder if there’s still space for this sector in your club. Warm regards to “old” members - Manny I, Nes S, Butch C, Nando L, etc. Keep on shooting and More Power!
